Italian soprano Sara Cortolezzis won the first prize “Carlo Bergonzi” and received the exceptional prize “Renata Tebaldi” for best female voice at the 58th edition of the Voci Verdiane International Singing Competition in Busseto in 2022. She has won competitions such as the Concorso Cittá di Vigevano (2019), as well as the singing competition at the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto, which she won in 2021.
She was born in Mestre near Venice, where she began her singing studies with Francesco Signora and Rosetta Pizzo. She later continued with Lucia Mazzaria, Alessandro Pierfederici and Stefano Gibellato. Since 2019 she has worked with Elisabetta Tandura. Subsequently, Sara participated in several Masterclasses with Mariella Devia, Marina Comparato, Roberto De Candia, Carmela Remigio and Renato Bruson, etc.
Sara made her debut at the Teatro Barbarigo in Padua as Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata. This was followed by the role of Cio-Cio-San in Puccini's Madame Butterfly at the Teatro Nuovo G. Menotti in Spoleto and at the Teatro Morlacchi in Perugia. In 2022 she appeared as Lesbina in the opera LA Franchezza delle Donne by Selitti. She appeared as Donna Anna in the opera Don Giovanni at the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto, produced by Henning Brockhaus.
Sara's projects in the 2023/2024 season include important debuts such as Leonora (Il Trovatore) at the Teatro Coccia Novara, Elena (Il Vespers Siciliani) at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Desdemona (Otello) at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari and Anna Bolena at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste.
