Teo Gertler

The eleven-year-old is a laureate of dozens of major international violin competitions. He made his international debut aged eight in the final of the 17th International Nutcracker Competition for Young Musicians, where he won second prize. In September 2018, Teo won the Grand Prix in the under-17 category at the 14th International Karol Lipinski and Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Lublin, Poland.

His musical maturity, unique tone and passionate interpretation have already been appreciated on many major world stages, where he has performed as a soloist, for example, with the Budapest Festival Orchestra conducted by Ivan Fischer, with the Moscow Academic Orchestra conducted by Ayyub Guliev, and with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Adam Medveczky.

As a soloist with an orchestra, Teo is a frequent guest at concerts and festivals. In 2019, he was a guest at the Musical Olympus festival, where he performed with the St. Petersburg State Capella Orchestra (conducted by Alexander Chernushenko), and at the closing gala concert of the Interlaken Classics festival with the Zakhar Bron Festival Orchestra.

In addition to numerous concerts and recitals across Europe, Teo has also guested as a soloist on major stages such as the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Brano Philharmonic, the Berlin Dome, the Tchaikovsky Theatre in Moscow, the Capella in St. Petersburg, the Kursaal in Interlaken, the Metropolitan in New York, as well as in major halls in Slovakia.

He also works closely with the Žilina State Chamber Orchestra and conductor Leoš Svárovský.
