Adrian Kokoš

He studied choral conducting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the class of B. Juhaňáková, and he was a student of O. Lenárd in orchestral conducting.

Since January 2004, he has been working as a conductor at Slovak Radio, where he re-founded the Children's Choir. In addition to the radio choir, his collaboration with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra is dominant. He has a number of premieres of domestic and international authors to his credit. Since 2003, he has been collaborating with the Slovak composer V. Kubiček, and has performed twelve of the composer's operas in world premieres. He has conducted several domestic and foreign musical ensembles (Cappella Istropolitana, State Philharmonic Orchestra Košice, State Chamber Orchestra Žilina, Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra Olomouc, Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava, Bohuslav Maritna Philharmonic Orchestra Zlín, Johann Strauss Orchestra in Coburg, Germany, Metropolitan Orchestra Bratislava, and others). As a conductor, he has also performed at several renowned music festivals (International Musica Sacra Festival in Nitra, Festival of Sacred Art Košice 2005, Viva Musica Festival, Bratislava Music Festival, International Opera Festival Smetana Litomyšl, Dvořák Olomouc, Czech Touches of Music, Europäische Johann Strauss Bühnenwerke Festival, International Festival of Peter Dvorský – Jaroměřice). In the 2009/10 season, he worked as a guest conductor of the State Opera in Banská Bystrica. He regularly collaborates with prominent figures in the Slovak and international music scene (A. Kučerová, P. Bršlík, D. Jenis, D. Karvay, V. Hudeček, etc.) He also performed at the 30th Summer Olympics in London, where at the famous Sadlers Wells Theatre - together with YES art-rock legend Jon Anderson - he conducted the Slovak Representative Concert. Since January 2015, he has been working as the second conductor and chief dramaturge of the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Adrian Kokoš is a performer and promoter of Slovak vocal-instrumental music. He has recorded several titles published by Slovak Radio Records, Hudobný fond and Universal Music. He regularly participates in artistic programmes for Radio and Television of Slovakia and Czech Television.
