Lívia Ághová

In 1984, she graduated in opera singing from Bratislava Conservatory under the guidance of Professor Fidlerová. Since the 1985 theatre season, she has been in the opera ensemble of the Slovak National Theatre. In 1986, she became a laureate of the Prague Spring international competition. In September 1988, she won the ARD Munich International Singing Competition and the Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary. She has collaborated with the Czech Philharmonic, the Příž Orchestra, the BBC Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, and has repeatedly guested at the Hamburg State Opera where she was highly praised as Juliet in Bellini's opera Capuleti e Montecchi. She was also successful as Xenia in Dvořák's opera Dimitrij in Berlin. Since 1988, she has been an opera stage soloist at the National Theatre in Prague, where her roles have included: Nedda (R. Leoncavallo: The Comedians), Juliet (Ch. Gounod: Romeo and Juliet), Clever Girl (L. Janáček: The Clever Fox), Žofia (R. Strauss: The Pink Cavalier). She has guested on almost all major opera stages in Europe.
