Young Slovak soprano Adriana Kučerová studied singing at the Academy of Music in Bratislava and at the Conservatoire Supérieur de musique et de danse in Lyon, France. She also attended master classes with Soni Ghazarian and Roland Panerai. She has won several competition awards: 1st place at the Slovak Conservatory Competition in Žilina in 2000, 3rd place at the European Music Prize for Youth in 2001, 2nd place at the International Summer Academy Prague-Vienna-Budapest in 2002 and, most importantly, 1st place along with three other awards at the prestigious Hans Gábor Belvedere Competition in Vienna in 2005. Her art was also awarded the Minister of Culture Award in 2008, the Tatrabanka Award and the Crystal Wing. She has been a member of the Slovak National Theatre since completing her studies.
The meteoric rise of her international career quickly brought her to world festivals (e.g. Ravenna, Glyndebourne and Salzburg) and to leading opera houses such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Munich State Opera, Vienna State Opera, Opera de Bastille in Paris, Santa Cecilia in Rome, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Carlo Felice Genova, Theatre an der Wien, and the Dallas Opera.
While performing on stages around the world, she had the opportunity to work with leading conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Vladimir Jurowski, Sir Ivor Bolton, Sir Christopher Hogwood, Daniel Oren, Riccardo Muti, Fabio Luisi, Kazushi Ono, Kent Nagano, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, etc. Adriana Kučerová is one of the world's most sought-after sopranos on opera stages and concert stages. Various television and radio companies, as well as CD and DVD recordings, have showcased her talent to listeners and viewers in many countries.
