He studied singing at the Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. He has completed several interpretation courses with renowned foreign vocal teachers. Since 1997, he has worked at the Bratislava Chamber Opera and two years later he moved to the Slovak National Theatre Opera. His most notable creations include Don Ottavio in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Nemorino in Gaetano Donizetti's L'Elixir of Love, Ramiro in Rossini's Cinderella, Ernesto in Donizetti's Don Pasquale, Alfredo in La Traviata, Jeník in The Bartered Bride and Romeo in Gounod's opera Romeo and Juliet. In addition to Bratislava, he regularly performs on neighbouring and more distant foreign stages: at the State Opera in Budapest, the State Opera in Vienna, the Opera in Zurich, the Dresden State Opera, the Opéra de Nice, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, etc. His other successes include Almaviva in The Barbier of Seville at the Vienna State Opera, Rossini's Lindoro in The Italian in Algiers at the Dresden Sächsische Staatsoper, Smetana's Jeník in The Bartered Bride in Zurich, Donizetti's Ernesto from the buffa Don Pasquale at the Opéra de Nice, as well as the tenor part in Orff's Carmine Burana at the Teatro Regio in Turin, and the tenor part in Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, which was performed at the Dresden Philharmonic. In Bratislava, audiences have seen him in recent seasons as Lehár's Camille de Rossilion in The Merry Widow and also in the role of Toni in Donizetti's opera The Daughter of the Regiment. Oto Klein has collaborated with many world-famous conductors in his career: Daniel Barenboim, Fabio Luisi, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Jerzy Semkow, Ralfon Weikert, etc. He is currently equally sought after as a great opera and concert performer.
