Jozef Eliáš

He is a graduate of the Conservatory (prof. Peter Drlička) and the Academy of Fine Arts (doc. Jozef Luptáčik) in Bratislava and a doctoral student at the Academy of Arts (prof. Alexander Stepanov) in Banská Bystrica. During his studies, he participated in master classes in Semmering (prof. Jiří Hlaváč). He twice won second place at the Yamaha Music Scholarship Competition. In 2008, he received the Golden Note of Slovak Savings Bank. He has performed with many leading domestic and foreign orchestras and chamber ensembles, such as Slovak Philharmonic, Bruno Wlater Orchestra, Slovak National Theatre, Bohdan Warchal Chamber Orchestra, Capella Istropolitana, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Quasars Ensemble, Una Anima Wind Quintet, Slovak Wind Quintet, Societa Rigata Quartet, Bratislava Clarinet Quartet, Melos-Etos Ensemble, ŠKO Žilina, ŠF Košice, and Moyzes Quartet. He is a founding member of the Metropolitan Orchestra Bratislava. He currently works as the first clarinetist of the Slovak Philharmonic, and a professor at the Bratislava Conservatory.
